At alliance Jiu Jitsu Kent, we are proud to bring the world-renowned Alliance philosophy to our local community. Opening in July 2025, our academy is built on the core values of discipline, respect, perseverance, and personal growth. Whether you’re stepping onto the mat for the first time or you’re a seasoned competitor, our mission is to help every student reach their full potential-on and off the mats. We offer world-class instruction in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for all ages and experience levels, with a focus on technical excellence, personal development, and a welcoming, family-friendly environment. As part of the global Alliance team, we are committed to developing strong individuals and building a strong community here in Kent.
History
Founded in 1993 by Master Romero “Jacare” Cavalcanti, Alliance Jiu-Jitsu has grown into one of the most respected and successful Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teams in the world. Built on a legacy of discipline, unity, and technical excellence, Alliance has earned 15 IBJJF World Championships and established itself as a leader in the sport. Known for developing world-class athletes and instructors, the Alliance team has affiliates in over 30 countries and continues to raise the bar in competitive and educational standards.
Our Kent, Washington location-opening in July 2025-carries forward this prestigious legacy. As an official Alliance affiliate, we are committed to upholding the team’s values while serving the unique needs of our local community. At Alliance Kent, we aim to provide elite-level training in a supportive, inclusive environment where students of all backgrounds can learn, grow, and thrive-both on and off the mat.

We follow the proven, long-standing training methods of Alliance Jiu Jitsu. We are driven by an organized teaching system that divides techniques into modules, respecting the complexity of each belt.
Our Jiu Jitsu training is taught by example. Students learn techniques through live demonstrations with training partners to better understand technique with one-on-one support.
